About the role

BORNEO CROPS SDN BHD is seeking a talented and experienced PENYELIA LADANG (Farm Supervisor) to join our agricultural operations team. This is a full-time position based in Sandakan, Sabah. As Farm Supervisor, you will play a crucial leadership role in overseeing daily farm operations, ensuring productivity targets are met, and maintaining the highest standards of agricultural practice. This position is integral to the success of our farming operations and directly impacts the efficiency, profitability and sustainability of our business.

Key responsibilities

• Supervising and coordinating farm staff to ensure effective implementation of farming activities and adherence to operational schedules
• Monitoring crop health, growth patterns and soil conditions to optimise yield and quality
• Implementing and maintaining pest management and disease control programmes in line with best practices
• Ensuring proper use, maintenance and safety of farm equipment and machinery
• Managing inventory of seeds, fertilisers, pesticides and other agricultural inputs
• Maintaining detailed records of farm activities, including planting, harvesting, maintenance and input usage
• Conducting regular inspections of farm areas to identify issues and implement corrective measures
• Ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and sustainable farming practices
• Training and developing farm workers to enhance their skills and productivity
• Reporting on farm performance metrics and providing recommendations for process improvements
• Liaising with management regarding operational challenges and resource requirements

What we're looking for

• Proven experience working in farm supervision, plantation management or agricultural operations, ideally within a similar farming environment
• Strong knowledge of crop cultivation, irrigation systems, fertilisation programmes and pest management techniques
• Experience in managing and motivating farm workers and support staff
• Sound understanding of health and safety protocols within an agricultural setting
• Proficiency in basic record-keeping, data collection and reporting
• Ability to operate and maintain farm equipment and machinery
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
• Good communication skills in Malay, English and local languages is advantageous
• Physical capability to perform fieldwork and outdoor activities regularly
