Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy or related biological field.
• 2–5 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in oil palm plantation management/nutrition is essential; exposure to other cash crops is a plus.
• Fluent in Mandarin and English (spoken and written) to support accounts and client relationships.
• Willingness to travel regularly across Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah, Sarawak, and Southeast Asia.

Responsibilities

• Support CTO in product development based on research, market demand and industry trends.
• Collaborate with R&D on trials, assess materials, enhance efficacy, ensure regulatory compliance.
• Monitor new fertilizer tech trends and suggest product innovations.
• Plan agronomic trials to gather data and validate product performance.
• Develop field trial protocols, analyze data, and present findings to CTO.
• Provide technical expertise on soil health, crop nutrition and sustainable practices.
• Coordinate with microbiology lab and agronomy team on NPK and bio-product lines.
• Lead product presentations to clients and train sales/marketing on technical aspects.
• Develop marketing materials, bulletins and product positioning strategies.
• Conduct seminars, training and on-field demonstrations for importers, planters and farmers.
• Participate in exhibitions and network with industry professionals and potential clients.
• Support tender projects and provide technical assistance to clients locally and overseas if needed.

Job description

Assistant Manager, Product & Technical (Agronomy)

This position will be responsible to provide technical support & advice, supporting key Acct. customers as well as new accounts.

This candidate also needs to have genuine passion for bio-solutions & applied biological science, assisting in the development of our NPK & bio product lines.

Technical & Product Development:

• Support Chief Technology Officer (CTO) in the development and improvement of company products based on research, market demand, and industry trends.
• Collaborate with R&D teams in product trials, evaluate raw materials, enhance product efficacy, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Monitor new advancements in fertilizer technology and recommend potential product innovations.

Agronomy & Research:

• Plan and initiate agronomic trials to gather data, validate performance and efficacy of our products.
• Develop protocols for field trials, analyze data, and present findings to the CTO.
• Provide technical expertise on soil health, crop nutrition, and sustainable agricultural practices.

Biotechnology:

You will coordinate, assist, and work closely with our microbiology laboratory and agronomy team, setting the technical direction for our NPK and bio-product lines and translating lab and field results into products that perform on real plantations starting with oil palm, and extending into other cash crops as our research capability grows.

• Take the lead role in product presentation to client.
• Work closely with sales and marketing teams to provide technical training and impart product knowledge.
• Assist in developing marketing materials, technical bulletins, and product positioning strategies.
• Conduct seminars, training sessions, and on-field demonstrations for importers, planters, and farmers.
• Participate in exhibitions to showcase company products.
• Networking with industry professionals and potential client.
• Participate in the company’s tender project.
• Provide technical support to client locally and oversea, if necessary.

Requirement:

• Candidate must possess Bachelor’s Degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Science, Crop Science, Soil Science, microbiology, bio-technology or a closely related biological field.
• At least 2-5 years of working experience in the related field.
• Experienced in oil palm plantation management/nutrition is essential. Additional exposure to commercial cash crops (e.g., fruit trees, vegetables, durian) is a strong advantage.
• Able to communicate fluency in spoken and written Mandarin and English is mandatory to support key commercial accounts, tenders, and client relationships across Malaysia and regional overseas markets.
• Capability to transition smoothly between field trial environments, plantation conditions, technical discussions, and executive boardroom presentations.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regularly across Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah, Sarawak, and the wider Southeast Asian region.
