Job summary

Jora Malaysia in Penang is seeking an experienced Senior Application & Database Support Engineer to back ChipFab, Wafer Cert and PA Engineering environments, ensuring system availability and manufacturing continuity. You will provide hands-on production support, monitor MS SQL Server, troubleshoot databases, and collaborate with Engineering and Infrastructure teams.

A strong background in SQL and database maintenance is essential, with onsite Penang requirement.

Qualifications

Degree or diploma in Computer Science, IT, or Software Engineering.
8–13+ years of experience in application or database production support.
Strong hands-on experience with MS SQL Server and SQL.
Experience with Oracle PL/SQL is an advantage.
Proven troubleshooting in production environments.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

Provide production and on-call support for ChipFab and Wafer Cert production database systems.
Support PA Engineering applications, SQL databases, servers and related production systems.
Monitor and troubleshoot MS SQL Server / SQL database issues, including availability and performance.
Perform database performance optimization and health checks.
Troubleshoot application, database and server-related production incidents.
Work with engineering and infrastructure teams to resolve issues.
Conduct RCA for recurring production issues.
Participate in after-hours and weekend on-call rotation.
Maintain technical documentation and incident records.
Support changes, deployments, patches and production validation.
