Jora Malaysia is seeking a proactive Production Engineer to join the technology team in Kuala Lumpur, supporting a client in the Financial Services Industry. You’ll monitor the production environment, respond to critical alerts, troubleshoot issues, and ensure systems remain stable during trading hours.
This is a fully onsite role with shift hours 2:00 PM – 10:00/11:00 PM or 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Weekend work may be required, with weekday off-in-lieu provided.

We are looking for a proactive and hands-on Production Engineer to join the technology team in Kuala Lumpur, supporting our client in the Financial Services Industry.
You’ll be responsible for monitoring the production environment, responding to critical alerts, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring systems remain stable during trading hours. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys solving real‑time technical issues, taking ownership, and working in a fast-paced production environment.
Monitor production systems, application performance, alerts, and overnight batch jobs.
Respond quickly to production incidents and investigate issues to identify root causes.
Troubleshoot application, network, database, and vendor‑related issues.
Take ownership of incidents from initial investigation through to resolution.
Resolve issues independently where possible and escalated to the relevant engineering teams when needed.
Support onshore engineering and operations teams during overnight hours.
Monitor and validate batch processing and start-of-day (SOD) activities.
Work closely with development, operations, and technical teams across Malaysia, China, and the US.
Document incidents, findings, resolutions, and handover details.
Identify recurring issues and look for opportunities to improve production stability and processes.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related technical field.
5-6 years of experience in Production Engineering, Production Support, Software Engineering, or a similar technical role.
Experience supporting production systems and handling technical incidents.
Good knowledge of Python or Java.
Experience with MySQL or other relational databases.
Good understanding of Linux/Unix environments.
Familiarity with Kubernetes, containers, Kafka, or other distributed systems.
Exposure to AWS/cloud infrastructure is an advantage.
Experience in FinTech, financial services, trading, or brokerage environments is a plus.
Individuals comfortable communicating with Mandarin‑speaking stakeholders across the region.
Proactive and hands-on — you don’t wait for someone else to solve an issue.
Strong in ownership and accountability.
Able to stay calm and make sound decisions during critical incidents.
Comfortable working independently and under time pressure.
Curious and willing to learn new technologies and systems.
Detail-oriented, responsible, and dependable.
