ByteDance seeks a strategic leader to direct the Malaysian legal entity within the Global Payments team, driving governance, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder engagement across payments and wallet services in Malaysia and Southeast Asia.

The role requires deep payments industry expertise, strong leadership, and the ability to forge partnerships with regulators, banking partners, and industry bodies to deliver best-in-class financial services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Law, Accounting, or related field.
• 5+ years in payments/fintech/financial services or related strategic roles.
• Experience leading cross-functional and cross-border initiatives.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Analytical, data-driven decision maker with strategic mindset.
• Willingness to travel internationally.

Responsibilities

• Serve as director of the Malaysian legal entity with fiduciary and governance duties.
• Oversee strategy, operations, risk management, compliance, and internal controls for the local entity.
• Engage regulators, government authorities, banks, auditors, and other stakeholders.
• Lead partnerships across Malaysia and Southeast Asia to enhance payments and wallet services.
• Develop and execute partnership strategies aligned with growth and regulatory obligations.
• Negotiate and finalize partnership agreements for sustainable outcomes.
• Monitor performance metrics to manage risks and optimize outcomes.
• Collaborate with Solution, Product, Compliance, Legal, Risk, Finance, and Operations teams to scale partner solutions.
