Job summary

PayNet (Payments Network Malaysia) is seeking a senior architect to lead end-to-end design of real-time payment rails, API gateways, tokenisation, and settlement infrastructure across national-scale systems. You will set architecture standards, drive security, and guide engineering squads through complex integrations and vendor evaluations.

You will shape reference architectures, ADRs, and threat models while ensuring regulatory compliance, fault tolerance, and low latency.

Qualifications

• Experience designing payment architectures for large-scale systems.
• Ability to translate regulatory requirements into technical designs.
• Expertise in security-driven architecture and data protection.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end architectures for mission-critical payment services and settlement pipelines.
• Define architecture standards and guardrails; produce ADRs and reference architectures.
• Lead vendor evaluations and third-party integrations with measurable criteria.
• Collaborate with product, risk, and compliance to align architecture with roadmaps.
• Drive technical debt remediation and platform modernization initiatives.
