Job summary

Media.Monks in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Payments & Cash & Banking Specialist to join its global Finance team. Based in Malaysia, you will handle payments, cash management and banking activities for entities across the region, aligning with standardised processes and local regulatory requirements.

You will report to the Regional P2P Lead and work with the P2P team to ensure timely payment runs, accurate cash reporting and robust reconciliation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or a related field.
• 2+ years’ experience in Payments and/or Cash & Banking functions.
• Strong ability to monitor complex data workflows and identify issues.

Responsibilities

• Process payments to suppliers and employees, ensuring on-time payments.
• Operate NetSuite OneWorld to execute payments and manage payment runs.
• Generate and validate payment proposals with invoice processing team.
• Monitor daily cash positions and perform bank reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate records of cash and banking activities for reporting and audit.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes with cash reports.
• Assist in implementing cash management tools within NetSuite OneWorld to optimize cash flow.

The Role

We are looking for a Payments & Cash & Banking Specialist to work in our global Finance team. Based in Kuala Lumpur, this role will perform payments, cash and banking activities for entities across the region working to standardised processes, and working in an efficient, and compliant manner while meeting local operational needs.

The successful candidate will report to the Regional P2P Lead and will work within the P2P team to ensure the timely processing of invoices and other payable transactions.

Responsibilities

• Being supplier‑ and customer‑focused, this role will partner with both to ensure invoices are paid on time.
• Working on the NetSuite OneWorld ERP to ensure timely execution of payments to suppliers and employees.
• Owning the execution of scheduled payment runs from start to finish.
• Working closely with invoice processing team to ensure accurate generation of payment proposals.
• Validating and managing requests for urgent payment.
• Managing daily cash operations including monitoring cash positions, processing bank transactions and reconciling accounts.
• Reconciling bank statements and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Maintaining accurate records of all cash and banking activities for reporting and audit purposes.
• Supporting month‑end and year‑end closing processes by preparing cash and banking reports.
• Assisting in implementing and maintaining cash management tools within NetSuite OneWorld to optimise cash flow and banking operations.
• Ensuring compliance with corporate treasury policies, accounting standards and local regulations.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or a similar field preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ERP systems’ functionality, specifically NetSuite, is highly desirable.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience working within a Payments and/or Cash & Banking function.
• Strong ability to monitor complex data workflows and identify issues before they impact the business.
• Excellent communication skills and command of written and spoken English.
• Ability to deliver accurate results under tight deadlines and manage competing priorities effectively.
