Job summary

Curie Oncology is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to support the nursing team in delivering patient-centered care within a clinical setting in Kuala Lumpur. You will assist with basic care, prepare patients for examinations, and help maintain a safe, clean environment.

The role covers patient mobility, communications with nurses and departments, and basic administrative tasks to ensure smooth patient flow and high-quality service.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years in a clinic/hospital setting; fresh graduates encouraged to apply.
• Possession of a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification will be an added advantage.
• Good communication, interpersonal skills, and a strong customer service mindset.
• Physically fit and able to assist with patient mobility and handling tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff with basic patient care and simple clinical support tasks.
• Support patient mobility and safe transfers (bed, wheelchair, stretcher).
• Help prepare patients for examinations, treatments, and consultations.
• Provide basic comfort care (feeding, hydration, positioning).
• Ensure patient comfort, dignity, and privacy at all times.
• Communicate patient readiness and movement to nurses and relevant departments.
• Support smooth patient flow within the unit and ensure timely readiness for appointments.
• Liaise with support services (porters, housekeeping, pharmacy) to ensure smooth operations.
• Observe and report changes in patients’ condition, behaviour, or complaints to nursing staff promptly.
• Measure and record vital signs (if trained and assigned), including BP, pulse, and temperature.
• Escalate abnormal findings or patient concerns immediately to nurses on duty.
• Promptly report incidents, near misses, equipment malfunction, or safety concerns to nursing staff.
• Monitor and report stock levels of consumables and clinical supplies.
• Assist in weekly inventory counts and replenishment requests.
• Ensure proper storage and organisation of supplies.
• Assist in basic preparation and cleaning of clinical equipment after use.
• Assist with basic documentation as required by the team (e.g., logs and checklists).
• Assist in maintaining accurate census records and tracking patient attendance, where applicable.
• Ensure the correct patient charging process is followed according to the hospital system.
• Support administrative tasks such as patient flow coordination when needed.

Requirements & Qualifications
