Job summary

Crowe Malaysia is seeking a seasoned professional to lead a diverse corporate recovery portfolio in Kuala Lumpur, including liquidations, receiverships, and special administrations. You will design and execute strategic turnarounds and debt restructurings for distressed businesses.

You will provide expert legal and strategic guidance under Malaysian insolvency laws, while actively networking with banks, law firms and corporate leaders to build a robust client pipeline and secure optimal outcomes

Qualifications

• Degree in Finance, Commerce or Accounting or equivalent professional qualification.
• Minimum 10 years' experience in corporate recovery, restructuring or insolvency in Malaysia.
• Up-to-date knowledge of Malaysian insolvency laws and corporate rescue mechanisms.
• Strong experience in liquidations, financial restructuring and turnarounds.
• Excellent interpersonal and business development skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead engagement leadership across liquidation, receivership and special administrations.
• Assess distressed businesses and design corporate rescue strategies.
• Provide legal advisory under Companies Act 2016 and Insolvency Act 1967.
• Network with banks, law firms, financial institutions to originate mandates.
• Negotiate with creditors and regulators to secure optimal outcomes.

• Engagement Leadership: Manage a diverse corporate recovery portfolio covering liquidations, receiverships, and special administrations.
• Corporate Rescue & Turnarounds: Assess distressed businesses to design and execute corporate rescue mechanisms, debt restructurings, and strategic turnarounds.
• Legal Advisory: Provide expert legal and strategic on the Companies Act 2016 and Insolvency Act 1967, ensuring full compliance with Malaysian statutory frameworks.
• Business Development: Actively network with banks, law firms, financial institutions, and corporate leaders to originate new mandates and build a robust client pipeline.
• Stakeholder Management: Confidently negotiate with creditors, directors, judges, and regulatory bodies to secure optimal outcomes for all parties.

Requirements:

• Qualifications: Possess a degree in Finance, Commerce, Accounting or equivalent professional qualification in Accounting.
• Experience: Possess a minimum of 10 years of specialized experience in Corporate Recovery, Restructuring, or Insolvency within Malaysia.
• Legal & Technical Expertise: Comprehensive, up-to-date knowledge of Malaysian insolvency laws and corporate rescue mechanisms.
• Skillset: Strong baseline experience in formal liquidations, combined with a proven track record in financial restructuring and strategic business turnarounds.
• Commercial Acumen: Exceptional interpersonal and networking skills, with a natural ability to build relationships, socialize, and generate new business.
