Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a skilled Barista in Kuala Lumpur with 1–2 years of experience to deliver high-quality coffee and beverages. You will work in a fast-paced setting, engaging with guests and providing exceptional service.

You will handle espresso extraction, milk steaming, latte art, and POS transactions while adhering to safety and cleanliness standards. This role requires teamwork and a passion for coffee.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Barista with 1–2 years in a similar role.
• SPM or equivalent qualification is required.
• Proficiency in espresso extraction, milk steaming, and latte art.
• Experience with POS systems for orders and payments.
• Excellent customer service and welcoming attitude.
• Strong communication in English, Mandarin, and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Knowledge of food safety and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to learn new brewing methods and products.
• Team player and collaborative attitude.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve coffee and beverage orders according to recipes and standards.
• Operate espresso machines, grinders, and brewing equipment; perform cleaning and troubleshooting.
• Engage with customers, take orders, answer questions, and make recommendations.
• Handle cash and card transactions using the POS system with accuracy.
• Follow food safety regulations and maintain clean, organized work areas.
• Stock shelves, clean tables, and keep coffee bar and seating areas tidy.
• Collaborate with teammates to manage peak-hour workflow.
• Develop understanding of the brand and share it with customers.
• Monitor stock levels and report shortages to management.

• Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other brewing equipment, performing regular cleaning and basic troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance.
• Engage with customers in a friendly and efficient manner, taking orders accurately, answering questions about menu items, and making recommendations.
• Handle cash and credit card transactions using the Point of Sale (POS) system, ensuring accuracy in all financial dealings and maintaining a balanced cash drawer.
• Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations, including proper food handling, storage, and temperature control to prevent contamination.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including stocking shelves, cleaning tables, and ensuring the overall tidiness of the coffee bar and seating areas.
• Collaborate effectively with team members to manage workflow during peak hours, assist colleagues as needed, and contribute to a positive team atmosphere.
• Develop a strong understanding of Wodages' brand and offerings, including the inspiration behind the name and the company's passion for travel, to share with customers.
• Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies, and reporting any shortages to management.
