Hospis Malaysia provides palliative care to patients and their carers in the home. We are seeking a Palliative Care Doctor / Physician to work with the palliative care team to enhance care for patients with life-limiting illnesses.

You will provide holistic pain and symptom management to patients in their homes and teach informal carers to provide care when needed. Requirements include a Medical Degree (MBBS/MD or equivalent), MMC registration with a valid APC, and fluency in English and Bahasa

Qualificações

• Medical degree from a recognized institution.
• Registered with MMC and hold valid APC.
• Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia; additional Mandarin/Cantonese/Hokkien dialects are a plus.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience; able to travel within Klang Valley.

Responsabilidades

• Educate and support informal carers for home care when needed.
• Address patient priorities and concerns with timely follow up.
• Manage catheter and nasogastric tube care as required.

Hospis Malaysia provides palliative care to patients and their carers in the home. The goal of palliative care is to improve the quality of life of patients with life-limiting illnesses. An important part of maintaining quality of life is providing excellent nursing care.The role of a Palliative Care Doctor / Physician is to work with the palliative care team to enhance the care for such patients. We are looking for motivated medical practitioners to provide holistic pain and symptom management to patients in their homes and to teach their informal carers to care for their loved ones when they require medical assistance.

SKILLS REQUIRED

Palliative Care Doctor / Physician

Knowledgeable, skilled and compassionate

Good communication skills & an understanding of the concerns of patients and families facing a life-limiting illness

Prior experience in oncology and palliative care will be an advantage.

Holistic assessment skills to identify patients priorities and the underlying causes of their symptoms.

Plan management to address patients priorities and concerns

Provide appropriate information for patients and caregivers regarding their condition.

Ensure timely follow up of patients

Changing catheters and nasogastric tubes

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Possess a Medical Degree (MBBS/MD or any equivalent) from a recognized institution

Registered with the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC) and possess valid Annual Practicing Certificate (APC)

Able to write and speak in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Ability to speak in Mandarin/Cantonese/Hokkien, etc. dialects would be advantageous

Minimum 2 years of working experience in a related field

Possess a valid driving license and willing to travel within the Klang Valley
