Job summary

Hospis Malaysia is seeking a Physiotherapist / Occupational Therapist to provide evidence-based PT/OT services to palliative care patients at home or within Hospis Malaysia. You will work autonomously within the clinical team to deliver comprehensive care and to support the development of PT/OT services.

You will assess physical, psychological and functional skills, design holistic management plans, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to improve patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Holistic assessment of patients and carers in home or Hospice Malaysia.
• Develop holistic management plan for PT/OT needs.
• Autonomous clinical work within a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based physiotherapy and occupational therapy services in patients' homes or Hospis Malaysia.
• Undertake PT assessment addressing physical, psychological, and functional skills.
• Identify patient and carer needs to plan, implement and evaluate care.
• Deliver interventions for anxiety, breathlessness, and fatigue.
• Collaborate with OT to assess equipment needs and training on usage.
• Maintain high-quality documentation of assessments and interventions.
• Educate clinical team on PT/OT interventions and role in palliative care.
• Participate in audits and stay updated on palliative care developments.
