Job summary

Sunway Medical Centre Velocity is seeking an experienced Resident Medical Officer to support neonates and paediatric inpatients in the Paediatric Ward. You will assess, diagnose and manage acute cases alongside consultants, with emphasis on timely interventions and comprehensive care.

Required MMC recognition, APC, and at least 3 years in acute/ward or ICU settings; paediatric experience is a plus. Excellent communication and teamwork in a fast-paced hospital environment are essential.

Qualifications

• MMC-recognised medical degree.
• Valid Annual Practising Certificate (APC).
• Minimum 3 years of relevant clinical experience in acute care, ward management, or ICU.
• Paediatric experience is advantageous.
• Strong clinical judgement and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage acute medical conditions with consultants.
• Perform comprehensive assessments, investigations and planning.
• Monitor progress and initiate timely emergency interventions.
• Perform procedures including airway management, IV access, blood sampling, catheterization, resuscitation.
• Coordinate transfers, admissions and discharges.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
• Communicate with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams.
• Participate in quality improvement and accreditation activities.
