Job summary

Pertama Makmur Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking an experienced OSH Coordinator to oversee the safety and health functions across multiple sites. • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in OSH or related field.
• Registered or certified OSH Coordinator under Malaysian law.
• 2–3 years of relevant experience, construction preferred.
• Knowledge of OSH Act 1994, its regulations, and statutory requirements.
• Experience in establishing and implementing an OSH system.

Job description

Responsible for the overall implementation, coordination and administration of the occupational safety and health (OSH) functions for multiple companies.

Establish, implement and continuously improve the companies' OSH management system, including developing policies, procedures, documentation and compliance programmes.

Ensure compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994, its subsidiary legislation and the companies’ OSH policies and procedures.

Conduct workplace inspections, audits, and hazard identification, risk assessment and risk control (HIRARC) activities and monitor the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.

Organise safety induction programmes, OSH training, emergency drills, and safety awareness initiatives to promote a positive safety culture.

Coordinate OSH committee meetings and follow up on action items.

Monitor contractors' compliance with the companies' safety requirements and safe work practices.

Investigate workplace accidents, dangerous occurrences, occupational diseases and near-miss incidents, and recommend corrective and preventive measures.

Coordinate the timely reporting of workplace accidents, dangerous occurrences, occupational diseases, and other reportable incidents to DOSH, PERKESO and other relevant authorities in accordance with statutory requirements.

Liaise with DOSH, PERKESO, and other relevant authorities on OSH-related matters, including inspections, audits, investigations, and compliance.

Coordinate DOSH inspections and ensure the timely closure of corrective actions.

Maintain the companies’ MyKKP portal, including the registration of machinery and statutory records.

Monitor the validity of statutory certificates, licences and permits to ensure timely renewal.

Maintain OSH records and statutory documents and prepare periodic OSH reports.

Advise management on OSH matters and recommend improvements to enhance workplace safety and regulatory compliance.

Any other related duties as assigned by your superior.

REQUIREMENTS

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Health, Engineering, Science or a related discipline.

Registered or certified as an OSH Coordinator in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations in Malaysia.

Minimum 2–3 years of relevant working experience, preferably in the construction industry.

Good knowledge of the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994, its subsidiary legislation, and other relevant statutory requirements.

Experience in establishing and implementing an OSH management system from the ground up will be an added advantage.

Familiar with HIRARC, workplace inspections, accident investigations, emergency preparedness, and statutory reporting requirements.

Good communication, interpersonal, organisational, and report-writing skills.
