Job summary

RGE is seeking a skilled Boiler Operator to join our team in Johor, Malaysia. You will operate, monitor, and maintain industrial boilers to ensure safe steam generation and reliable plant performance.

Responsibilities include start-up/shut-down, routine maintenance, water treatment, data logging, and collaboration with maintenance and production teams to minimize downtime. A certified boiler operator with safety mindset is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical certification/diploma in boiler operation preferred.
• Proven experience as a Boiler Operator in industrial settings, preferably with high-pressure boilers.
• Valid Boiler Operator license or certification as required by local regulations.
• Strong understanding of boiler systems, controls and auxiliary equipment.
• Knowledge of water treatment principles for boiler systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and P&IDs.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and minor repairs on boilers and related equipment.
• Monitor boiler parameters (pressure, temperature, water levels, fuel flow) using gauges and control systems.
• Analyze water samples and perform chemical treatments to maintain water chemistry.
• Troubleshoot issues and take corrective actions to ensure safety and reliability.
• Record data, maintenance activities, and incidents in logs/computer systems.
• Adhere to safety policies and environmental regulations; handle hazardous materials properly.
• Coordinate with maintenance and production teams to minimize downtime.
• Participate in training and stay updated on boiler operation best practices.

Job Summary

The Boiler Operator will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and monitoring of industrial boilers and auxiliary equipment at RGE Pte Ltd. This role ensures continuous steam generation to support plant operations while adhering to all safety and environmental regulations.

Job Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and control industrial boilers, including start-up, shut-down, and emergency procedures, to maintain optimal operating conditions and steam production.
• Conduct routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and minor repairs on boilers, pumps, valves, and other related equipment to ensure reliable performance.
• Monitor boiler parameters such as pressure, temperature, water levels, and fuel flow using gauges, meters, and control systems.
• Analyze water samples and perform chemical treatments as necessary to maintain proper water chemistry and prevent scaling or corrosion.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and identify potential hazards, taking corrective actions promptly and safely.
• Record operational data, maintenance activities, and incidents accurately in logbooks and computer systems.
• Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and environmental regulations, including proper handling of hazardous materials.
• Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to coordinate boiler-related activities and minimize downtime.
• Participate in training programs and stay updated on best practices in boiler operation and safety.

Job Qualifications

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent; technical certification or diploma in boiler operation, power plant technology, or a related field is highly preferred.
• Proven experience as a Boiler Operator in an industrial setting, preferably with high-pressure boilers.
• Valid Boiler Operator license or certification as required by local regulations.
• Strong understanding of boiler systems, controls, and associated auxiliary equipment.
• Knowledge of water treatment principles and practices for boiler systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and P&IDs.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to safety and environmental compliance.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical ability to perform duties, including lifting, climbing, and working in various environmental conditions.
• Basic computer proficiency for data entry and monitoring systems.
