Job summary

WD Malaysia in Penang is seeking an entry-level Operator 1 to support machine operations in the Cleaning and Lube area, learning basic processes under supervision. This role focuses on learning routines, safety, and quality adherence while assisting senior technicians on the shop floor.

You will perform loading/unloading tasks, maintain supplies for downstream processes, and participate in cleanup and workflow checks. This position offers hands-on training in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• SPM or equivalent qualification required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Knowledge in MS Excel preferred.
• Good analytical skills.
• Willing to learn and operate with supervision.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload with correct orientation as directed by supervisor.
• Ensure downstream operation has enough supplies to continue running production.
• Perform CIM scanning for lot transaction to next operation.
• Complete assigned cleaning/ Lube checklists and maintain inventory controls.
• Adhere to 7S housekeeping and workplace safety regulations.

Job Description

Department: Manufacturing – Cleaning and Lube
Operator 1 is responsible for supporting machine operations in the Lube area, performing basic tasks under supervision, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. This entry-level role focuses on learning fundamental processes, executing routine tasks, and assisting senior technicians as needed.

Qualifications

Production & Machine Operations

• Perform routine loading / unloading job or anything that triggered by supervisor
• Make sure downstream operation is having enough supplies to continue running production
• Load and unload with the correct orientation
• Perform CIM scanning for lot transaction to next operation
• Understand the basic operating procedure and certified minimum level 1
• Basic safety precaution

Process & Quality Assurance

• Perform sampling and sanity checks on products.
• Verify MESA flow and product codes for accuracy.
• Follow IMS and RBA requirements.
• Complete assigned cleaning/ Lube checklists.
• Maintain inventory control to prevent excessive WIP time.

Technical Support & Troubleshooting

• Assist with MESA transactions such as split/bin/cassette associations.
• Carry out shift checklist buyoff and assist in machine bring-up.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Adhere to 7S housekeeping and workplace safety regulations (e.g., PPE use, chemical handling).
• Participate in training programs to develop technical skills.
• Work closely with senior technicians and supervisors to gain hands-on experience.
• Adhere to process instructions and report for any abnormalities observed for further verification.

REQUIRED

• SPM or equivalent required
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.

PREFERRED

• Knowledge in MS EXCEL
