Job summary

SHB Malaysia Automotive Appliance Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an Operations Material Control (OMC) Engineer / Specialist to manage material planning, supplier coordination, inventory control, and ensure on-time customer deliveries within our automotive manufacturing operations.

You will use MRP/ERP systems (SAP preferred) to monitor material requirements, support ECN/ECO, BOM updates, and drive continuous improvements across planning, purchasing, and logistics teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field and 2–5 years of experience in Material Planning, SCM, Production Planning, Logistics, or Inventory Control in manufacturing.
• Experience in automotive manufacturing or Tier-1 supplier environment is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (SAP preferred), BOM management, ECN/ECO, PPAP, IMDS, and automotive supply chain processes.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage material planning and control activities to ensure material availability for production and customer delivery requirements.
• Monitor supplier delivery performance, shortages, and coordinate with Purchasing, Planning, Warehouse, Logistics, and Engineering teams.
• Utilize MRP/ERP systems to analyze material requirements, inventory status, and production demand.
• Support Engineering Change (ECN/ECO), BOM updates, NPI activities, and material readiness from prototype to mass production.
• Prepare material reports, shortage analysis, CTB analysis, and drive continuous improvement to improve inventory accuracy and supply chain efficiency.

What You'll Be Doing

Manage material planning and control activities to ensure material availability and support production and customer delivery requirements.

Monitor supplier delivery performance, material shortages, and coordinate with Purchasing, Planning, Warehouse, Logistics, and Engineering teams to ensure smooth material flow.

Utilize MRP/ERP systems to analyze material requirements, inventory status, and production demand.

Support Engineering Change (ECN/ECO), BOM updates, NPI activities, and material readiness from prototype stage to mass production.

Prepare material reports, shortage analysis, CTB (Can Build) analysis, and drive continuous improvement to improve inventory accuracy and supply chain efficiency.

Must-Have

Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Business Administration, or related fields.

2–5 years of relevant experience in Material Planning, Supply Chain, Production Planning, Logistics, or Inventory Control within a manufacturing environment.

Experience in automotive manufacturing or Tier 1 supplier environment is preferred.

Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (SAP preferred), BOM management, Engineering Change (ECN/ECO), PPAP, IMDS, and automotive supply chain processes.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
