Job summary

Prima Lab Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day internal operations and ensure smooth coordination across departments, reporting to the Laboratory Director.

You will lead manpower planning, scheduling, procurement, inventory, and administrative activities, monitor KPIs, drive improvements, and support quality, regulatory and accreditation requirements in partnership with the Quality team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management, Healthcare Management, Medical Science or a related discipline.
• Minimum 7–10 years of working experience, preferably with at least 3 years in an operations or management role.
• Experience in healthcare, medical laboratory, diagnostics or another regulated service industry is an added advantage.
• Strong operations management and cross-department coordination skills.
• Able to take ownership of issues and follow through until resolution.
• Experience in manpower planning, workflow management, procurement, inventory or administrative operations.
• Comfortable working with operational data, KPIs and management reports.
• Strong problem-solving and organisational skills.
• Able to identify process weaknesses and implement practical improvements.
• Experience with quality management systems, ISO standards or regulated environments is an added advantage.
• Comfortable using business management systems and digital workflow tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day internal operations of the Company and ensure smooth coordination across departments.
• Coordinate manpower planning, staff scheduling, leave coverage and operational resource requirements.
• Monitor daily laboratory support operations, customer service, logistics, procurement, inventory and administrative activities.
• Work closely with the Laboratory Director and laboratory team to ensure operational requirements are effectively supported.
• Ensure issues are properly assigned, followed up and resolved within the expected timeline.
• Monitor key operational indicators such as turnaround time, pending cases, complaints, stock availability, equipment downtime and other operational exceptions.
• Identify recurring operational issues and implement practical improvements to workflows, processes and internal coordination.
• Develop and maintain clear internal processes, responsibilities and escalation procedures.
• Coordinate with suppliers, service providers, couriers and other external parties to ensure operational continuity.
• Support budgeting, cost control and efficient utilisation of manpower and company resources.
• Lead and guide the administrative and operational teams to improve accountability, teamwork and service standards.
• Support quality, regulatory and accreditation requirements in coordination with the Laboratory Director and Quality team.
• Prepare regular operational updates and reports for the CEO.
• Support implementation of new systems, automation and digitalisation initiatives.
• Carry out other operational improvement projects assigned by the CEO.
