Operations Executive, Ops Product & Corporate Action (SG Support)
The Corporate Actions Executive supports the regional team in reconciling and producing the "golden copy" of corporate actions event data — the single, verified source of truth consumed by regional offices for downstream processing, client notification, and reporting. This is a hands‑on operational role suited to someone early in their securities operations career, offering exposure to multiple asset classes, markets, and stakeholders while building a strong foundation in corporate actions processing, reconciliation, and data quality controls.
Responsibilities
- Consolidate and cross-check corporate actions event data from multiple sources (custodians, depositories, data vendors, market announcements) to produce a single, accurate "golden copy" record for each event.
- Ensure golden copy records are complete, accurate, and updated promptly as event terms are confirmed, amended, or finalized. Maintain version control and audit trail of golden copy updates and amendments.
- Publish/release the golden copy in a timely manner to enable regional offices to consume accurate data for their own processing and client servicing needs.
Reconciliations
- Perform daily reconciliations between source data feeds (custodian/depository notifications, market data vendors) and internal golden copy records to identify discrepancies.
- Investigate and resolve data breaks (e.g., mismatched dates, rates, or event terms) in a timely manner, escalating unresolved items to senior executives.
- Support position and entitlement reconciliations following event completion to confirm golden copy accuracy against actual outcomes.
- Maintain reconciliation logs and status trackers for audit and management reporting purposes.
Corporate Action Information Dissemination
- Draft clear, concise, and accurate corporate action notices and event summaries for dissemination to internal stakeholders, operational teams, and clients.
- Ensure all event notices accurately reflect official market announcements, highlight key deadlines, election requirements, potential impacts, and operational considerations.
- Liaise proactively with custodians, brokers, registrars, product teams, technology teams, and other internal departments to clarify event details and resolve data‑related issues.
Corporate Actions Processing Support
- Process routine corporate actions events (dividends, stock splits, bonus issues, rights issues, redemptions, and other mandatory/voluntary events) under guidance from senior team members.
- Capture and validate event notifications received from custodians, depositories, and data vendors (e.g., SWIFT MT564/565/566) against market announcements and internal data sources.
- Support timely notification of elections and deadlines to regional offices/clients, escalating queries as needed.
Business Process and System Enhancement
- Develop working knowledge of corporate actions event types, market practices, and messaging standards (SWIFT/ISO 20022) across covered markets.
- Participate in training sessions and shadow senior executives to build technical and market knowledge.
- Contribute ideas for process improvements as familiarity with workflows grows.
- Gather, analyse, and translate business requirements into system enhancement specifications to support operational improvements and evolving business needs.
- Participate in system enhancement initiatives, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and implementation activities to ensure successful delivery of new functionalities.
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve system efficiency, and strengthen operational controls through automation and process enhancements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
- 0–3 years of experience in financial operations, securities services, custody, or a related field (internships/relevant coursework considered for entry‑level candidates).
- Basic understanding of financial markets, securities, and corporate actions concepts.
- Strong attention to detail and comfort working with data and numbers.
- Good command of Microsoft Excel (basic formulas, data checks).
- Exposure to SWIFT messaging, custody, or settlement systems through coursework, internships, or prior roles.
- Familiarity with APAC financial markets and regulatory environment is an advantage.
- Additional language skills relevant to the region is a plus.
