Job summary

Blue Water Shipping is seeking an Operations Executive for our Projects department in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. You will coordinate end-to-end project shipments, manage documentation, and ensure on-time movement from origin to destination according to the scope of work.

The role requires 2+ years in heavy cargo or project freight, familiarity with heavy lift vessels and oversized cargo, strong organization and communication, and willingness to travel to client sites globally.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of relevant work experience in heavy cargo or out-of-gauge operations, logistics, or project management.
• Familiarity with MPP/heavylift vessels, deck carriers, semi-subs, multi-axle trailers and self-propelled modular transporters, and knowledge of customs procedures for oversized cargo.
• Solid understanding of transportation regulations for oversize and heavy haul shipments.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple operations simultaneously, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the progress of shipments and provide real-time updates to customers.
• Address and resolve operational issues such as delays, damages, or discrepancies.
• Maintain operational excellence, ensuring customer satisfaction and provide service quality as per Blue Water standards.
• Travelling to meet clients or overseeing operations in various locations globally when required.

Your Background

• Possess a solid understanding of transportation regulations, particularly those related to oversize and heavy haul shipments.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities are crucial for coordinating complex over dimensional cargo movements.
• Ability to manage various operations simultaneously, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
