Job summary

Eastman Malaysia is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support electrical and instrumentation systems at our Kuantan site. You will perform troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs to ensure reliable plant operations.

The role requires a diploma or certificate and 2 years of manufacturing experience, with English and Malay fluency. AO Chargeman certification is preferred. Eastman offers a safety-focused, inclusive work environment and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Must possess a certificate or diploma or equivalent from a recognized institution of higher learning certified by Malaysia.
• Preferably hold a Competent AO Chargeman certified by Suruhanjaya Tenaga Malaysia.
• Minimum 2 years working experience in manufacturing environment.
• Fluency in English and Malay, written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Perform troubleshooting on electrical and instruments equipment.
• Carry out emergency repair on electrical and instrument equipment when required.
• Perform scheduled maintenance on electrical and instrument equipment.
• Manage equipment custodian duties for assigned classes of equipment.
• Understand thoroughly the equipment and its functions.
• Carry out preventive maintenance planning (Maintenance and Operation).
• Ensure spare parts are available when needed.
• Work with other experts on the equipment.
• Share and train technicians on knowledge gained.
• Identify, determine, withdraw and verify recommended spare parts.
• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, inspect and test plant equipment and E&I systems as required.
• Carry out other tasks assigned by Maintenance Supervisor.
• Assist in responding to plant emergencies.
• Support Process Team Supervisor (PTS) instructions for Operations activities when required.
• Comply with quality, environment, health and safety systems at site.

Qualifications

Qualification & Requirement:

• Candidate must possess at least a Certificate or Diploma or equivalent from a recognized institution of higher learning certified by Malaysia.
• Preferably hold a Competent AO Chargeman certified by Suruhanjaya Tenaga Malaysia.
• Minimum 2 year working experience in manufacturing environment or related process industry.
• Fluency, both written and verbal, in English and Malay.
