Job summary

Cohu Malaysia Sdn Bhd is recruiting an Operations Analytics and Automation Engineer to drive operations excellence by turning manual processes into automated, data-driven systems. You will design, deploy and sustain automation, analytics and AI-augmented solutions to improve safety, quality, delivery and cost.

You'll build end-to-end data pipelines, dashboards and real-time analytics, integrate MES/ERP data, and apply statistical methods to optimize yield and productivity while ensuring

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience in object oriented programming (OOP).
• Strong analytical skills with ability to drive quantitative analysis.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy and sustain automation, analytics and AI-augmented solutions that improve safety, quality, delivery, cost and scalability.
• Design and maintain end-to-end data pipelines integrating MES, ERP, engineering, quality, test and supplier data.
• Develop dashboards, reports and analytics that provide real-time visibility into operational performance, risks and trends.
• Apply analytics and statistical methods to support root cause analysis, yield improvement, defect reduction, and productivity optimization.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts, services and applications that eliminate manual data handling and repetitive tasks.

We are seeking a Operations Analytics and Automation Engineer to support operations excellence initiatives by converting manual, fragmented and error-prone operational processes into automated, digitized, data-driven and intelligent systems.

Design, develop, deploy and sustain automation, analytics and AI-augmented solutions that improve safety, quality, delivery, cost and scalability.

Impact You Will Make:

Establish good working relationship with counterparts in MY and all business units.

Design and maintain end-to-end data pipelines integrating MES, ERP, engineering, quality, test and supplier data.

Develop dashboards, reports and analytics that provide real-time visibility into operational performance, risks and trends.

Apply analytics and statistical methods to support root cause analysis, yield improvement, defect reduction, and productivity optimization.

Develop and maintain automation scripts, services and applications that eliminate manual data handling and repetitive tasks.

Build digital workflows and tools to support operations processes, while adhering to cybersecurity and IT governance requirements.

Maintain documentation, version control and change management for all developed solutions.

Support deployment of AI‑assisted use cases and work with subject-matter experts to ensure AI outputs are interpretable, trustworthy and actionable.

Any other ad-hoc assignment according to business needs.

Our Ideal Candidate:

Education: Minimum with Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Technical Skills/ Requirements:

• o Object oriented programing (OOP) skills


• o Strong experience in software development using C# / Java / C++, etc


• o Familiar with scripting such as Excel VBA, DAX, M Language, SQL, Python, R


• o Experience in creating and coordinating technical and business requirements for processes, projects or procedures.


• o Strong analytical skills, with ability to drive quantitative analysis and develop metrics.


• o Ability to perform statistical modeling/analysis in Excel and other modeling programs.


• o Ability to develop process map and document findings.


• o Ability to create quantitative evaluative models.


• o Detail-oriented, dependable and trustworthy.


• o Able to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.


• o Strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills are required as well as demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
