Job summary

Celestica is seeking a Senior Lead Engineer, Software in Penang to guide BMC firmware development. You will track issues, design solutions, and coordinate cross-site debugging for advanced data center products.

The role requires 6 to 12 years of experience in Embedded Linux or BMC environments, strong C/C++, and familiarity with IPMI/Redfish interfaces. Bachelor degree is required, with a focus on scalable software for embedded systems.

Qualifications

• Experience with Embedded Linux or BMC ecosystems.
• Strong knowledge of Linux device drivers, memory management, and file systems.
• Familiarity with IPMI, Redfish, and common interfaces (I2C, UART, SPI, PCIe).
• Solid skills in C/C++, Linux shell and Makefile; programming in Python and Java.

Detailed Description

Responsibilities:

1) Responsible for tracking, analyzing, and locating issue encountered.

2) Collaborating with front-end, customers, and the market to deploy and design BMC-related requirements on products.

3) Coordinate multi functions cross sites to debug issue and feature development on products.

4) Design, develop and release BMC firmware package on products.

5) Customer/Vendor communication on the design

Embedded Linux or BMC(OpenBMC, AMI, or other BMC supplier) development experience.

Understanding Linux device driver, file system and memory management.

Familiar with IPMI, Redfish, and I2C, UART, SPI, GPIO, PCIe/PCI, and Power Management etc.

Solid C/C++ , Linux shell and Make file programming skills, experience in Python, Java.

Ability to rapidly acquire working knowledge of unfamiliar new technologies.

• Multicultural working experience, Good communication and teamwork.

Physical Demands

• Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
• Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
• Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
• Occasional travel may be required.
