Job summary

Celestica is seeking a Senior OpenBMC engineer in Penang, Malaysia. You will develop and customize embedded management OpenBMC for various products (Server/Switch/Storage) and deliver high-quality software packages for customers.

Responsibilities include tracking and solving issues, collaborating with customers, and designing BMC-related requirements across products. Strong C/C++, Linux, and IPMI/Redfish experience are required.

Qualifications

• Embedded Linux or BMC development experience.
• Understanding of Linux device drivers, file systems and memory management.
• Familiar with IPMI, Redfish, I2C, UART, SPI, GPIO, PCIe/PCI and Power Management.

Summary

As Senior OpenBMC engineer. In this position, you will be responsible to develop and/or customize embedded management(OpenBMC ) for various products(Server/Switch/Storage) and deliver high quality software package for customers.

Detailed Description

Responsibilities

• Responsible for tracking, analyzing, and locating issue encountered.
• Collaborating with front-end, customers, and the market to deploy and design BMC-related requirements on products.
• Coordinate multi functions cross sites to debug issue and feature development on products.
• Design, develop and release BMC firmware package on products.
• Customer/Vendor communication on the design

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

• Embedded Linux or BMC(OpenBMC, AMI, or other BMC supplier) development experience.
• Understanding Linux device driver, file system and memory management.
• Familiar with IPMI, Redfish, and I2C, UART, SPI, GPIO, PCIe/PCI, and Power Management etc.
• Solid C/C++ , Linux shell and Make file programming skills, experience in Python, Java.
• Ability to rapidly acquire working knowledge of unfamiliar new technologies.
• Multicultural working experience, Good communication and teamwork.

Physical Demands

• Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
• Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
• Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
• Occasional travel may be required.
