Job summary

Nokia is seeking an On-Site Support Test Engineer based in Malaysia to maintain and support fixed networks test systems, including GPON and copper technologies, across our Southeast Asia factories. You will analyze production performance, work with designers on improvements, support changes, factory transfers and new product introductions, and align test strategies across multiple sites.

Fluent English is required; knowledge of Chinese is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Electronics engineering or related field; Master’s degree or 5+ years with Bachelor may apply.
• 3+ years experience with Master’s degree or 5+ years with Bachelor in relevant field.
• Experience with optical communication network standards and testing.
• Experience in factory/production environment; programming (Python) preferred.
• Familiar with test instruments and instrument control; good English skills.

Job Description

The Nokia NI Supply Chain Fixed Networks Test Engineering team is responsible for designing and maintaining manufacturing test solutions for the full Fixed Networks portfolio, including GPON, and copper technologies, both for Customer Premise Equipment as Central Office equipment. Currently, we are expanding our operations with our manufacturing vendors in South East Asia. To support and guarantee that the test operations with those vendors are according to Nokia standards, we are currently looking for an On-Site Support Test Engineer. This engineer will be based in Malaysia but will support factories in Vietnam, Thailand, China, India and Malaysia as well.

How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn

In this role, you will be responsible for the on-site test system maintenance, including:

• Support factory test operations, data analysis of production performance
• Work with designers and for problem solving and improvements
• Support changes, factory transfers, new product introduction
• Align test and improvement strategies across multiple factory sites

Key Skills And Experience

You have:

• Major in Electrical/Electronics engineering. Computer Science, Communication Engineering or related. At least 3 years work experience with Master degree or 5 years work experience with Bachelor degree.
• Understanding of the communication standard of optical communication network, test experience with related product.
• Working experience in factory/production environment.
• Good experience in programming and prompting - Python is preferred.
• Been familiar with the commonly used test instrument, instrument control and programming experience is preferred.
• Comprehensive knowledge of computer and communication network could understand the new communication protocol and product requirement swiftly.
• Good working enthusiasm and teamwork spirit.
• Good in communication skill and problem solving.
• Good written and oral in English - Knowledge of Chinese language is strongly preferred.

It would be nice if you also had:

• Knowledge of other communication domains (voice, copper, Wifi, RF)
• Mechanical/fixture design expertise
• Software test experience.
• Experience on large-scale project.
