Job summary

Ray Tech (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking a Field Application Engineer to join our engineering team in Johor Bahru. You will serve as the technical bridge between our products and customers, delivering on-site support, troubleshooting, and application expertise to ensure customer success.

Qualifications

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Proven experience as a Field Engineer, Field Service Engineer, or similar technical field-based role.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to diagnose complex technical issues independently.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documentation, schematics, and engineering drawings.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical customers.
Competency in using diagnostic tools, testing equipment, and software relevant to field engineering work.
Valid driving licence and willingness to travel regularly within the assigned service territory.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate documentation and records.
Ability to work independently whilst coordinating effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Preferred experience with industrial equipment, instrumentation, or automation systems.
Certification in relevant technical fields or manufacturer-specific training is an advantage.

Responsibilities

Provide on-site technical support and consultation to customers regarding product technique, installation, configuration, and optimization.
Conduct field diagnostics and troubleshooting of technical issues, identifying root causes and implementing solutions.
Perform equipment testing, calibration, and validation to ensure compliance with specifications and customer requirements.
Document technical findings, maintain detailed records of site visits, and prepare comprehensive technical reports.
Train customer personnel on proper operation, maintenance, and best practices for equipment and systems.
Collaborate with internal engineering teams to identify product improvements and communicate customer feedback.
Maintain accurate inventory of tools, spare parts, and technical equipment required for field operations.
Travel to customer sites as required to meet project deadlines and service commitments.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company protocols during all field activities.
Mandarin speaking is added advantage.
