Job summary
JP Group in Malaysia is seeking a Data Center Engineer for on-site operation and maintenance of data center facilities in Petaling Jaya. You will monitor performance, perform routine inspections, and ensure uptime of servers, network devices, and power and cooling systems.
The role involves cabling and rack installations, coordinating hardware deployment and decommissioning, maintaining asset records, and providing technical support to internal teams and clients.
Qualifications
- Experience in data center operations, monitoring, maintenance, and asset management.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware and infrastructure issues.
- Proficient in structured cabling, cable management, and rack organization.
- Solid understanding of servers, storage, and networking concepts.
- Follow SOPs, maintain documentation, and work safely on-site.
- Strong communication and teamwork to coordinate with cross-functional teams.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Server+/Network+) or IT degree is an advantage.
Responsibilities
- Monitor data center performance and uptime of critical systems.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on power, cooling, servers, and network devices.
- Handle cabling, rack installations, and hardware deployment/decommissioning.
- Maintain accurate asset and configuration documentation.
- Provide technical support and escalate issues as needed.
- Adhere to safety, security, and compliance standards.
- Support capacity planning and improvement initiatives.
