Job summary

Sime Darby Auto Selection is seeking a Safety Officer to oversee the company’s physical and electronic security, including warehouses and branches. You will coordinate fire and emergency drills, conduct safety audits, identify risks, and implement CHRA recommendations, while developing safety programs for staff.

Based in Malaysia, the role requires liaison with Fire & Rescue and DOE on safety matters and the ability to formulate management-standard processes like OSHAS 18000.

Qualifications

• Experience in security and safety management in corporate environments.
• Ability to coordinate fire/emergency drills and liaise with authorities.
• Knowledge of CHRA and safety audits is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in overall security aspects for the company, including access systems and guards.
• Help formulate and implement management-standard processes (OSHAS 18000, etc.).
• Lead fire/emergency evacuation drills as main coordinator.
• Assist in safety audits and risk identification with recommendations.
• Ensure CHRA recommendations are implemented.
• Develop and schedule safety training programs for the workforce.
• Liaise with Fire and Rescue Department and DOE on safety matters.

Job description

• Assist the superior for the overall company’s security aspect (physical and electronic access systems, security guard services, etc.) including warehouses and branches.
• Part of the team in formulating and executing processes to management standard for the company i.e. OSHAS 18000, etc.
• Being the Main player/coordinator to conduct fire/emergency evacuation drill for the Company.
• Assist in conducting safety audit.
• Identify risks and hazards created by the respective work processes and provide recommendations to either eliminate, substitute or reduce the risks/hazards.
• To ensure the implementation of recommendations as provided by the Company’s Chemical Hazardous Risk Assessment report (CHRA) are put in place
• Provide safety related programs and training schedules for the benefit of the work force
• Liaise with the local Fire and Rescue Department on matters relating to fire prevention programs, including conducting fire evacuation drill. Liaise with the Department of Environment (DOE) on matters relating to environment.
