Job summary

GFZ International (M) Sdn. Bhd. seeks an Occupational Safety and Health Site Coordinator to ensure OSH compliance on construction sites and lead safety initiatives. The role requires coordinating PTW systems, conducting inspections, and guiding workers and subcontractors in safe practices.

The ideal candidate holds a relevant degree, Yellow Book certification, and 3+ years in site supervision within the façade or similar industry, with Bahasa Malaysia and English proficiency.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction, Occupational Safety & Health, or a related field.
• Must possess a valid Yellow Book certification (SHO registration with DOSH).
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction site safety practices.
• CIDB Card.
• First Aid or Emergency Response certification is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Ensure full compliance with OSH standards, DOSH/JKKP regulations, ISO guidelines, and company HSE policies.
• Conduct daily site inspections, hazard evaluations, toolbox meetings, and safety inductions for workers and subcontractors.
• Ensure proper implementation of Permit-To-Work (PTW) systems, proper usage of PPE, and adherence to safe working procedures.
• Lead investigations on site hazards, accidents, and near-misses; recommend corrective actions; and support internal/external EHS audits.
• Maintain up-to-date document control systems, safety reports, version control, and record-keeping to ensure all records are accurate and audit ready.
• Act as the primary on-site point of contact for EHS matters, liaising with clients, consultants, subcontractors, internal teams, and relevant authorities.
• Assist in monitoring site quality, supporting team workflows, and organizing site records/updates for the Project Manager.
• Coordinate EHS training sessions, meetings, and initiatives to foster a strong safety-first culture across all project sites.

Your Responsibilities

What You Need

Education & Qualifications

Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction, Occupational Safety & Health, or a related field.

Must possess a valid Yellow Book certification (SHO registration with DOSH)

Knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction site safety practices

CIDB Card

First Aid or Emergency Response certification is an advantage

Experience

Minimum 3 years of experience in site supervision.

Experience in the façade industry is preferred.

Skills

Ability to read blueprints.

Strong team management skills.

Good problem-solving abilities.

Certifications

Familiarity with local building codes and safety regulations is an advantage.

Languages

Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and English.

Mandarin is an added advantage.

Mobility

Willingness to travel to project sites.
