Job summary

OSC Orthopaedic Specialist Centre is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager to lead our nursing team and ensure safe, efficient, high-quality patient care.

You will oversee staffing, enforce standards, collaborate with doctors and allied health professionals, and drive quality improvement across the department. A strong clinical background, leadership skills and regulatory knowledge are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with the Malaysian Nursing Board
• Valid APC (Annual Practising Certificate)
• Minimum 7 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role, preferably in an inpatient/orthopaedic setting
• Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal and decision-making skills
• Able to work independently and manage a multidisciplinary team effectively
• Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
• Post Basic qualification and/Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing will be an advantage

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise and manage the nursing team in daily clinical and operational activities
• Ensure safe, effective and patient-centred nursing care in accordance with hospital policies and standards
• Manage nursing manpower, staff allocation, duty rosters and operational requirements
• Monitor nursing performance, competency, productivity and staff development
• Ensure compliance with KKM, CKAPS and relevant regulatory requirements
• Monitor nursing documentation, medication safety, infection prevention and patient safety practices
• Lead quality improvement initiatives, audits and risk management activities within the nursing department
• Conduct regular staff coaching, mentoring, performance evaluation and competency assessments
• Work closely with doctors, allied health professionals and other departments to ensure smooth patient care and hospital operations
• Handle nursing-related incidents, complaints and service recovery professionally
• Participate in the development, review and implementation of nursing policies, SOPs and clinical guidelines
• Promote a positive, professional and accountable nursing culture

REQUIREMENTS

• Post Basic qualification and/Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing will be an advantage.
