Job summary

Ambu is seeking an experienced Assembly Supervisor in Penang, Malaysia to lead and supervise operators across R&D, NPI builds, and manufacturing transfer activities. You will manage manpower planning, coaching, safety, and training to ensure quality and compliance.

The role requires 3–5 years of supervisor experience in manufacturing, preferably in medical devices or regulated environments, with strong leadership and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3-5 years of manufacturing experience with supervisory responsibilities.
• Experience managing assembly or production operators in a manufacturing environment.
• Medical device manufacturing or other regulated industry experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise operators supporting R&D and NPI build activities.
• Manage manpower planning, attendance, overtime, and workforce allocation.
• Handle employee coaching, disciplinary matters, and operator well-being.
• Promote safe work practices and compliance with safety requirements.
• Conduct operator safety training and awareness programs.
• Proactively identify workplace hazards and support timely corrective actions.
• Train and certify operators on assembly processes, equipment operation, and work instructions.
• Maintain training records and competency matrices.
• Coach and develop operators to achieve high standards of quality and workmanship.
• Support prototype, engineering, and validation builds.
• Ensure compliance with approved work instructions and manufacturing processes.
• Perform build verification activities and quality gate inspections as required.
