Job summary

TECEZE in Malaysia, Johor, is seeking a hands-on Data Center Technician responsible for maintaining servers, hardware, and network gear. You will perform on-site maintenance, diagnostics, and asset management while coordinating with facility teams.

The role requires the ability to work independently under pressure, rapid learning of new technologies, and collaboration with regional teams; Mandarin is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Server maintenance including mounting and handover checks.
• Hardware maintenance and component replacement on-site.
• Diagnostics and incident support, including OS-level checks.
• System recovery and configuration after repairs.
• Network device maintenance and coordination with carriers/IDC.
• Asset management: inventory, spare parts, documentation.
• Coordination with Data Center Facility for incident drills and environment checks.
• Structured cabling and asset tagging, including project validation.
• Remote work support: manage virtual infrastructure tasks and VM provisioning.
• On-site and coordination work with third-party suppliers and clients.

Job description

• Hands-on experience in Data Center operations, familiarity with facility management, server hardware and network equipment
• Work independently and have the ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
• Work effectively with minimal direction or supervision for day-to-day tasks and communicate outcomes
• Fast-learning ability, willing to pick up new skills and technologies
• Proficient in Mandarin is a plus due to regional coverage

Server Maintenance

• Server mounting and handover acceptance checks
• Server failure drill exercises

Hardware Maintenance and Component Replacement

• Dismantling servers for minimal configuration testing
• On-site replacement of hardware components
• Supporting out-of-warranty server issues

Failure Incident Support and Diagnostics

• OS-level diagnostics (e.g. logging into systems to identify root causes)
• Pre-vendor triage (e.g. log collection and preparation for vendor escalation)

System Recovery and Configuration

• Post-repair system configuration (e.g. DHCP, disk mounting)
• OS-level repairs (e.g. disk remounting)
• Headcount-Based and Ticket-Based Data Center Operations

Network Device Maintenance

• Failure handling and request service
• Service equipment patrols and network equipment failure drill exercises
• Coordination with Carrier or IDC providers

Asset Management

• Production inventory management
• Spare units / parts inventory
• Storeroom and cabinet organization
• Create and update server lists and documentation

Coordination with Data Center Facility

• Facility incident response and drill exercises
• Site environment checks or testing assistance
• Facility patrol and abnormality reporting
• Facility change or maintenance coordination

Structured Cabling and Asset Tagging

• Cabling project acceptance checks and validation
• Ad-hoc structured cabling and labelling work

Remote Work Support

• Handle Issuer internal system ticket tasks (Virtual Infrastructure)
• Create, modify, or cancel VM hosts or VMs
• Perform IP provisioning and network configuration
• Support virtual machine handover
• Provide system access for checks, log collection, and config restoration

Other On-Site and Coordination Work

• On-site technical assistance or local coordination with third-party local suppliers
• Coordination with logistics and client teams during business hours
• On-duty reports, documentation, and archiving.
