Job summary

Astreya Partners is seeking a Network Engineer II in Kuala Lumpur to manage and maintain network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, VPN endpoints, and CDN assets. You will troubleshoot outages, perform upgrades, and collaborate with ISPs and vendors to resolve issues.

This role requires strong documentation and independent work with attention to detail. The position involves global production networks, edge, backbone, and data center components, with occasional after-hours

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 2–5 years related experience or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of routing, switching, server operating systems, active directory, firewalls, wireless controllers, DNS, email, virtual machines and software applications.
• Builds productive internal and external working relationships.
• Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
• Familiarity with content delivery networks and internet peering strategies.
• Understanding of server hardware technologies relative to content delivery performance and capacity.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain network hosts and services like routers, switches, firewalls, VPN endpoints.
• Perform network maintenances/upgrades (often during normal hours, but sometimes evenings/weekends).
• Troubleshooting network issues and outages.
• Participate in global production and corporate network including edge, backbone, datacenter, POP, and CDN infrastructure.
• Handle vendor switches on servers for hardware/software issues.
• Handle traffic and queries raised by ISP/Partners.
• Provide support for incidents such as input errors, CRC, RMAs.
• Work with ISP/vendors to fix network issues.
• Other duties as required; not a comprehensive inventory.
