Job summary

ANSA TIC Veritas Sdn. Bhd. in Johor Bahru seeks a skilled NDT Technician to perform non-destructive testing on critical equipment in oil and gas facilities, using UT, MPI, LPT, and radiography to detect defects and ensure compliance.

The role requires Level 2 certs with 1–2 years' experience, knowledge of ASME/ISO/API standards, and the ability to read drawings. You will maintain equipment, document results, and support safe, efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Valid NDT Level 2 certification in at least two methods; Level 3 preferred.
• 1–2 years' experience as an NDT Technician in the oil & gas, petrochemical, or heavy industrial sectors.
• Strong knowledge of ASME, ISO, and API standards.
• Proficiency in reading engineering drawings, technical specifications, and work procedures.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to accurately record and report inspection findings.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams.
• Physical capability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in challenging environmental conditions as required.
• A commitment to health, safety, and environmental compliance, with proven experience working in safety-conscious organisations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with flexibility to adapt to operational demands.
• Experience with equipment condition monitoring and predictive maintenance techniques is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform non-destructive testing using established methods including ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle inspection, liquid penetrant testing, radiography, and visual inspection.
• Conduct routine and scheduled inspections on pipelines, pressure vessels, storage tanks, and other critical equipment within the oil and gas facility.
• Document all inspection results accurately and prepare detailed reports in accordance with industry standards and company procedures.
• Identify defects, anomalies, and areas of concern, and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders and engineering teams.
• Maintain and calibrate NDT equipment and instruments to ensure accuracy and compliance with quality standards.
• Perform thickness measurements and material verification to assess equipment condition and remaining service life.
• Support preventative and predictive maintenance programmes by identifying potential failures before they occur.
• Comply with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, and follow established safety protocols at all times.
• Participate in training and continuous professional development to stay current with industry best practices and technological advancements.
