We are looking for a certified and experienced NDT Technician (Mechanical – MRO) to support inspection and quality assurance activities across plant operations. This role focuses on executing and supervising Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) works, particularly in boiler and piping systems within heavy industry environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute and supervise Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and QA/QC activities in accordance with approved method statements and inspection test plans
- Perform inspection works on boilers, piping systems, and mechanical components based on project scope and client requirements
- Assist in developing procedures and method statements in line with applicable codes, standards, and specifications
- Monitor site activities and inspection progress to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and contractual requirements
- Liaise with client representatives or PIC on inspection progress and technical matters
- Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and calibrated for safe and effective use
- Contribute to continuous improvement of inspection methods and work practices through post-project evaluations
- Support engineers in preparing progress, completion, and final technical reports
Requirements
- Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical / Materials) or equivalent
- Minimum:
- 5 years’ experience in engineering, heavy industry, or power generation (with exposure to boiler and piping inspection)
- At least 2 years of hands‑on NDT experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in PAUT interpretation
Certification (Mandatory)
- Minimum Level 2 NDT certification (PT, UT, MPI) certified by PCN or CSWIP, OR
- PAUT Level 2 certification (PCN or CSWIP)
Technical Competency
- Strong experience in:
- Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
- Magnetic Particle Testing (MPI)
- Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT)
- Radiographic Testing (RT)
- Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) interpretation
- Familiar with international codes and standards such as:
- AWS D1.1
- API 510 / 570
- ASME (Section II, IX)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office for reporting and documentation
