Job summary

OSK Construction Sdn Bhd, the construction arm of the OSK Group, seeks a Mobile Crane Operator for a township development project in Sungai Petani, Kedah. You will operate a mobile crane, perform lifting tasks, and ensure safety at all times.

Requires 3–5 years of crane experience, around 20 tonnes capacity, and valid DOSH/JKKP and CIDB certifications. Overtime may be required on site.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of relevant mobile crane experience, preferably on construction sites.
• Experience with cranes around 20 tonnes lifting capacity.
• Valid DOSH/JKKP competency certificate for mobile crane operation.
• Valid CIDB Green Card for construction personnel.

Job description

This role will be hired under the construction arm of the OSK Group, namely OSK Construction Sdn Bhd.

OSK Construction is responsible for construction and project execution, mainly for OSK Group’s property development projects and selected external jobs.

We are currently seeking a Mobile Crane Operator to support our township development project in Sungai Petani, Kedah.

ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES :

This role will be responsible for operating mobile crane and carry out the daily routine tasks (general or specific tasks) at project sites.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN :

• Safely and efficiently operate mobile crane according to project requirements.
• Perform pre-operational inspections and maintenance checks on the crane, ensuring it is in optimal working condition before operation.
• Perform daily works at the construction site independently. Follow strictly instruction given by superior.
• Operate the crane assigned by the company with utmost care, diligence and in a safe manner. Report any issues with the crane to the superior immediately.
• Monitor and maintain the proper function of crane controls, ensuring they are responsive and functioning correctly during operations.
• Adhere to all relevant safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies, maintaining a strong focus on safety at all times.
• Participate in housekeeping and safety activities as and when necessary or instructed.
• Safeguard and protect the company assets at the project site including workers’ quarter.
• Loading and unloading building materials, site handling, keep all materials in proper storage area and safeguard the materials at all time.
• Clean the construction site by removing hazards materials and debris from the worksite.
• Carry out any other duties as and when instructed by the Management / superior from time to time.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE:

• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience operating mobile cranes, preferably in construction projects.
• Experienced in operating mobile crane with lifting capacity of approximately 20 tonnes.
• Possess a valid DOSH/JKKP Crane Operator Competency Certificate for mobile crane operation. DOSH requires mobile cranes to be operated by registered/competent operators who have completed a recognised crane operator course.
• Possess a valid CIDB Construction Personnel Registration Card (Green Card).
• Familiar with load charts, lifting capacity, load calculations, slinging methods and crane safety procedures. These are also covered under CIDB's Mobile Crane Operation competency training.
• Able to conduct pre-operation and post-operation inspections and identify potential safety hazards.
• Experience working on landed residential / housing construction sites is preferred.
• Able to work closely with lifting supervisor, signalman and riggers during lifting operations.
• Good understanding of safe lifting practices and site safety requirements.
• Physically fit and able to work in a construction site environment.
• Willing to work overtime / weekends when required by project schedule.
