Job summary

DAIKIN RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT MALAYSIA SDN. BHD. (DRDM) is seeking engineers to develop firmware for microcontrollers using C/C++ or assembly and to implement software for embedded Linux platforms.

Role includes porting bootloaders and Linux kernel to customized hardware boards, debugging hardware–firmware interactions, conducting electrical measurements, and ensuring regulatory compliance across CE, FCC, UL and related standards. English fluency is required; Mandarin is a plus.

Qualifications

• Recognized degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer/Telecommunication Engineering or equivalent.
• Practical knowledge in developing microcontroller firmware in C/C++.
• Good knowledge in U-Boot, Linux kernel, Linux application programming and shell script.

Responsibilities

• Develop firmware for microcontrollers using C/C++ or assembly.

Job description

Developing the firmware using C/C++ or assembly language for microcontroller.

Coding for application program or device driver in embedded Linux environment.

Porting bootloader and Linux kernel into the customized hardware board.

Mitigate cybersecurity risks for the products

Diagnose and fix problems when issues arise

Understand or design the electronic circuit.

Perform electrical measurements using proper tools like oscilloscope.

Ensure products to pass regulatory compliances like CE, FCC, UL and others

Requirements:

Possess a recognized degree in Electrical / Electronic / Computer / Telecommunication Engineering or equivalent.

Practical knowledge in developing microcontroller firmware in C/C++

Good knowledge in U-Boot, Linux kernel, Linux application programming and shell script.

Must understand or can design the basic electronic hardware for digital/microcontroller system and analog system.

Excellent debugging skills and knowledge of interaction between hardware and firmware.

Practical knowledge in using measurement tools to collect correct readings.

Must possess good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills along with good time management skills.

Engineers with 2 to 8 years experience are welcome to apply.

Professional fluency in English is required. Competency in written and spoken Mandarin/Chinese is a distinct advantage to facilitate effective technical exchanges with suppliers/partners from China.
