Job summary

Job description

Education Level Required: Degree in Engineering

Key Role: To carry out project planning and to ensure that the design process is completed within deadlines.

Reporting To: R&D Senior Engineer (Design) /Assistant Manager / Manager / Senior Manager HOD

Key Responsibility

To liaise with the vendors on necessary parts quotations as well as mold/jig/die fabrication follow-up.

To prepare a bill of material for newly developed design, improved product.

To keep in touch with the market trends and customer feedback regarding the product.

To carry out design work for new and existing products.

Authority to approve project BOM and spec to proceed to subsequent department depending on justification of manager whether the engineer is competent to do so.

Willing to travel to Taiwan to provide technical support to Daikin's manufacturing facility.

Key Accountability

To prepare CER for any project investment proposal.

To ensure project and spec issued is accurate and within required time frame

Prerequisite Skill & Knowledge

SAP modules: PP(R&D) & MM

PC skills: Windows based programs i.e. documentation and design Software.

Training Requirements

SAP PP(R&D), MM Module

Project Management

Design software, e.g.: AutoCAD, Pro-E, Solid Edge

Seminar/exhibition which are related to existing product.

Abilities & Experience

Problem solving skills during handling of projects.

Negotiation on part pricing, mould/die cost.

Project Management to meet the deadlines.

Understanding of product manufacturing processes.

Chinese language proficiency (reading, writing, and speaking) is required for business communication with clients, vendors, and suppliers.
