Job summary

Avanade Malaysia is seeking an experienced Microsoft Security Consultant to help clients solve complex Cybersecurity challenges. You will lead engagements, design security architectures and risk-based solutions, and drive pre-sales activities across Azure security, Defender, Purview, and advanced threat protection.

Collaborate with sales and client solutions teams, mentor junior consultants, stay ahead of industry trends, and help customers build resilient cyber defenses with Microsoft security

Qualifications

• Min 8+ years in IT and cybersecurity with cloud security focus (Azure) and security operations, incl. 4-5 years in leadership or consulting.
• Proven pre-sales, consulting, or leadership roles in infrastructure/security solutions with strong security architectures knowledge.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, ability to explain complex ideas to all levels.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams in a consulting setting.

Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership: Lead pre-sales activities with presentations, demos, and PoCs to show Microsoft Security value.
• Solution Design: Work with sales and customers to tailor security solutions to their challenges.
• Customer Engagement: Build trusted advisory relationships and provide expert security guidance.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal Sales teams to support go-to-market and outcomes.
• Market Insights: Track industry trends and threats to inform strategy and solution development.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership: Lead pre-sales activities, including technical presentations, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept engagements to showcase the value of Microsoft Security solutions.
• Solution Design: Collaborate with sales teams and customers to understand their security needs and design tailored solutions that address their challenges.
• Customer Engagement: Build strong relationships with customers, acting as a trusted advisor and providing expert guidance on security for the best practices and Microsoft solutions.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams in the Sales organization, including Client Solutions, to support the go-to-market strategy and drive successful customer outcomes.
• Market Insights: Stay updated on industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging security threats to provide strategic insights and solution development.
• Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with key stakeholders, including Microsoft sales specialist and executive teams, to support business objectives and drive joint growth.

Skills & Experiences

• Min 8+ years of progressive experience in IT and cybersecurity, with a significant portion dedicated to cloud security (specifically Azure) and security operations, including at least 4-5 years in a leadership, management, or client-facing consulting role
• Proven experience in pre-sales, consulting, or commercial leadership roles in infrastructure/securitysolutions, with deep knowledge ofsecurity architectures, solutions, and technologies.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to articulate complex technical and business concepts clearly and persuasively to all levels of an organization.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team in a consulting or advisory capacity.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Strong client orientation with sensitivity to understand challenges and propose suitable solutions.
• Experience working with M365E5security solutions (i.e.Defender, Purview, Entra), Sentineland knowledge of thebroaderMicrosoftportfolio is highly valued.
• Certifications in M365security productsandindustry security certifications(e.g.CISSP, CISM, CRISC)leadership are valued.
