Job summary

Sunward Pharmaceutical in Johor Bahru invites a qualified microbiology professional to lead routine QC testing in the microbiology laboratory. You will ensure compliance with GLP, update SOPs, and supervise lab staff while maintaining contamination control and product safety.

The role requires a Bachelor degree in Biology or Microbial sciences and willingness to relocate or commute to Kempas, JB. You will report to the Quality Control Manager and engage in internal audits, PQ for new equipment,

Qualifications

• Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Biology or Microbial sciences.
• Relocation or commuting to Kempas, JB is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine microbiology testing and monitoring (MLT) on finished products and raw materials.
• Update SOPs and analytical methods for Microbiology.
• Monitor environment, water systems, and Identify Organisms.
• Maintain media and stock culture of microorganisms (bacteria and fungi).
• Manage in-house calibration program and outsource calibration for microbiology instruments.
• Supervise and train staff in the microbiology laboratory.
• Ensure Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and laboratory safety.
• Support investigations of product complaints.
• Participate in internal audits and PQ for new production equipment.

Work closely with QC Manager, QA Department and Production in order to aim on the problems that affecting the product including preventation, diagnosis and control of infections as well as ensuring that the products area safe and free from any contamination.

Report to Quality Control Manager

Routine microbiology laboratory testing and monitoring i.e. Microbial Limit Test (MLT) on finished product raw material, MLT validation and Preservatives Effectiveness Test (PET), Identification of Organisms.

Update records, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and analytical method for Microbiology section.

Microbiological monitoring of environment (air sampling), water system and Identification of Organisms.

Microbiological monitoring of samples under real time, accelerated and intermediate stability program

Maintain the quality of medium and stock culture of microorganisms (bacteria and fungi)

Review and evaluation of test report and record is up-to date and accurate.

Maintenance of instruments and apparatus in microbiology laboratory.

Management of in house calibration program and outsource calibration for Microbiology laboratory instrument.

Supervision and training staff in microbiology laboratory.

Ensure Good laboratory Practice (GLP) & laboratory safety.

Optimization of usage of microbiology laboratory equipment’s.

Support in the investigation of product complaints.

Involve in internal audit.

Performance Qualification (PQ) for new production equipment.

Requirements:

Candidates must possess at least Bachelor Degree in Biology or Microbial sciences.
