Job summary

Mescada is seeking an MES Engineer in Kuala Lumpur to design, implement, and sustain MES solutions across production lines. You will work with production, quality, engineering, and IT to translate needs into reliable systems.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years in MES, manufacturing systems, automation, or related engineering. Familiarity with Opcenter, Camstar, or Syncade is a plus, along with strong SQL/database skills and process validation experience.

Join our global MES engineering team and help build reliable, data-driven manufacturing systems that connect the shopfloor, equipment, quality, and IT.

As an MES Engineer, you will develop, implement, and sustain MES solutions across production operations. You will work closely with production, quality, engineering, and IT teams to translate manufacturing needs into practical, reliable system solutions.

This role is ideal for someone with 2–5 years of MES, manufacturing systems, automation, control systems, or related engineering experience who wants to grow deeper expertise in smart manufacturing, shopfloor integration, and regulated production environments.

What You’ll Work On

MES Delivery and Configuration

• Develop, configure, maintain, and sustain MES applications across manufacturing lines.
• Gather requirements from factory users and cross-functional teams, and translate them into functional and technical specifications.
• Model shopfloor workflows, routings, master data, and production rules.

Integration and Rollout

• Integrate MES with ERP, production equipment, and shopfloor systems.
• Support SIT, UAT, production rollout, and manufacturing transfer projects.

Operations and Improvement

• Support day-to-day manufacturing operations by troubleshooting MES-related issues, managing user access, resolving system abnormalities, and escalating production-critical incidents when needed.
• Analyze operational data to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process improvement.

Compliance and Documentation

• Support GAMP/GMP-aligned validation activities including IQ, OQ, and PQ, where applicable.
• Prepare user training, technical documentation, and validation documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Information Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• 2–5years of experience in MES development, implementation, or support within a manufacturing environment (fresh graduates with strong fundamentals may be considered).
• Familiarity with MES platforms (e.g. Opcenter, Camstar, Syncade, or equivalent) is an advantage.
• Proficiency inSQL and databasetroubleshooting; experience with web-based application development is a plus.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, shopfloor operations, and system integration.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Able to work closely with production users and cross-functional teams; willing to provide occasional off-hours support for production-critical issues when needed.

• Regulated / Pharma:Experience in the pharmaceutical industry and knowledge of GAMP (Good Automated Manufacturing Practice) guidelines and computerized system validation (CSV).
• Automation & Integration:Knowledge of control systems (PLC/SCADA/DCS), OPC protocols (OPC-UA / OPC-DA), and machine/equipment integration on the shopfloor.
