Job summary

SV Care Medic is seeking a Medical Officer with radiology experience to join a private diagnostic centre. You will conduct medical consultations, perform imaging procedures, and manage patient care across a range of clinical settings.

Qualifications

  • MBBS / MD or equivalent mandatory.

  • Postgraduate qualification/training in Radiology/Diagnostic Imaging preferred.
  • 2–3 years of relevant clinical experience preferred.
  • Experience in X-ray and/or ultrasound desired.
  • Experience in private diagnostic settings or corporate medical services preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct medical consultations, assessments and physical examinations.

  • Identify patients needing urgent or specialist referral.

  • Perform/assist diagnostic imaging procedures and interpret findings.
  • Ensure imaging procedures meet safety and clinical guidelines.
  • Support clinical governance and quality improvement activities.

  • Conduct medical consultations, assessments and physical examinations.
  • Diagnose and manage common acute and chronic medical conditions.
  • Develop appropriate treatment and management plans.
  • Prescribe medications within professional scope and clinic protocols.
  • Provide appropriate follow-up and continuity of care.
  • Identify patients requiring urgent or specialist referral.
  • Provide emergency assessment and initial stabilisation when required.
  • Maintain accurate, complete and timely medical records.
  • Provide appropriate medical advice, counselling and patient education.
  • Participate in health screening, occupational health and corporate healthcare programmes where required.
B. Radiology / Diagnostic Imaging Responsibilities
  • Perform and/or support diagnostic imaging procedures within documented competency and credentialing.
  • Demonstrate competency in relevant imaging modalities, such as:
  • General X-ray
  • Other approved imaging services relevant to the facility
  • Review and interpret imaging findings within the scope of the Medical Officer's recognised training, competency and privileges.
  • Correlate imaging findings with the patient's clinical presentation.
  • Identify abnormal or potentially urgent findings and arrange appropriate medical management or specialist referral.
  • Ensure appropriate clinical indications for imaging examinations.
  • Communicate relevant findings to the treating doctor and patient where appropriate.
  • Maintain proper documentation of imaging findings and clinical decisions.
  • Ensure imaging procedures are performed according to established clinical, radiation safety and infection-control protocols.
  • Escalate complex, inconclusive or specialist-level imaging findings to the appropriate radiologist/specialist.
C. Patient Safety & Clinical Governance
  • Ensure patient safety throughout consultation and diagnostic procedures.
  • Follow established clinical guidelines, SOPs and quality standards.
  • Comply with applicable radiation protection and imaging safety requirements.
  • Ensure appropriate patient identification and verification before imaging procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with applicable personal data protection requirements.
  • Participate in clinical audits, incident reporting and quality improvement activities.
  • Report and escalation clinical risks, adverse events and near misses appropriately.
  • Work closely with radiographers, nurses, medical assistants and other healthcare professionals.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, specialists and referral hospitals when required.
  • Provide clinical guidance to junior clinical staff within appropriate scope.
  • Participate in clinical meetings and case discussions.
  • Support the organisation's multidisciplinary healthcare and diagnostic services.
E. Documentation & Administrative Duties
  • Complete consultation notes, investigation requests, imaging documentation and referral letters accurately.
  • Ensure medical records are updated promptly.
  • Review investigation results and arrange appropriate follow-up.
  • Participate in clinic/departmental meetings.
  • Assist management in improving clinical workflows and patient experience.
  • Support preparation of clinical reports, statistics and audit documentation when required.
3. Qualifications
  • Recognised Medical Degree (MBBS / MD or equivalent).
  • Valid registration with the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC).
  • Valid Annual Practising Certificate (APC).
  • Valid professional indemnity coverage.
  • Completed relevant clinical training and demonstrated competency in radiology/imaging.
  • Minimum [2–3] years of relevant clinical experience preferred.
  • Postgraduate qualification, certificate or recognised training in Radiology/Diagnostic Imaging.
  • Experience in X-ray and/or ultrasound.
  • Experience working in a diagnostic centre, private hospital or specialist clinic.
  • Experience in occupational health, health screening or corporate medical services.
The candidate should demonstrate:
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
  • Competency in relevant diagnostic imaging modalities.
  • Ability to recognise normal and abnormal imaging findings.
  • Good clinical judgement and decision-making.
  • Ability to identify cases requiring radiologist/specialist review.
  • Excellent patient communication skills.
  • Good documentation and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work independently while functioning effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong commitment to patient safety and clinical governance.
5. Professional Scope

The Medical Officer shall perform radiology-related duties only within their verified training, competency, credentialing and authorised clinical privileges.

Where an imaging study requires specialist interpretation, the case should be referred/escalated to a suitably qualified and credentialed Radiologist.

The position does not confer specialist status unless the Medical Officer holds the relevant recognised specialist qualification and registration.

6. Working Hours
  • Full-time position based on clinic/diagnostic centre operating hours.
  • May be required to work shifts, weekends or public holidays depending on operational requirements.
  • May be required to support corporate events, health screening programmes or other SV Care Group healthcare activities.
