Job summary

Ibnu Sina Wellness Sdn Bhd is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant for a Friday–Sunday weekend schedule to support the clinical team through the patient journey. You will handle registration, preliminary assessment, examination support, documentation, and patient education, while maintaining accurate medical records and a safe clinical environment.

The role requires a Diploma in Medical Assistant studies, MAB registration, and an APC.

Qualifications

• Diploma or relevant qualification in Medical Assistant studies.
• Registered with the Medical Assistant Board (MAB).
• Valid Annual Practising Certificate (APC).
• Competent in taking and accurately recording vital signs.
• Able to perform basic patient assessments.
• Able to assist with examinations, treatments, and clinical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient information, medical history, and purpose of visit.
• Prepare and accompany patients to examination and treatment areas.
• Take and accurately record vital signs, including blood pressure, weight, and temperature.
• Perform preliminary physical assessments and report relevant findings.
• Assist doctors and healthcare professionals during examinations, treatments, and clinical procedures.
• Administer or assist with prescribed treatments and procedures within training and scope of practice.
• Perform IV/drip-related procedures where trained and authorized.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential patient medical records.
• Document examinations, treatments, procedures, and test results.
• Provide patients with information regarding medication, diet, and treatment.

Job description

As a Medical Assistant, you will support the clinical team throughout the patient journey—from patient registration and preliminary assessment to examination, treatment support, documentation, and patient education. You will also help maintain accurate medical records, clinical supplies, equipment, and a safe and organized clinical environment. This is a part‑time weekend position, making it suitable for a Medical Assistant who is looking for a structured clinical role with an agreed Friday–Sunday schedule.

Key responsibilities

Verify patient information, medical history, and purpose of visit.

Prepare and accompany patients to examination and treatment areas.

Take and accurately record vital signs, including blood pressure, weight, and temperature.

Perform preliminary physical assessments and report relevant findings.

Assist doctors and healthcare professionals during examinations, treatments, and clinical procedures.

Administer or assist with prescribed treatments and procedures within your training, competency, and authorized scope of practice.

Perform IV/drip-related procedures where appropriately trained and authorized.

Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential patient medical records.

Document examinations, treatments, procedures, and test results.

Provide patients with appropriate information and instructions regarding medication, diet, and treatment.

About you

Diploma or relevant qualification in Medical Assistant studies.

Registered with the Medical Assistant Board (MAB).

Valid Annual Practising Certificate (APC).

Competent in taking and accurately recording vital signs.

Able to perform basic patient assessments.

Able to assist with examinations, treatments, and clinical procedures.

Competent in IV/drip-related procedures where trained and authorized.

Knowledge of basic infection control, clinical safety, and medical equipment handling.

Able to maintain accurate and confidential patient records.

Good patient communication and interpersonal skills.
