Job summary

Agilent Technologies in Penang, Malaysia is seeking a Mechatronics Engineer / Electronics and Electrical Engineer with strong creativity and initiative to improve supplier piece-parts quality and support New Product Introduction (NPI) and product transfers.

You will provide technical guidance, work with manufacturing on material issues, and lead efforts to identify substitute materials for cost savings while ensuring supply and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechatronics, Electrical & Engineering, Materials Engineering Sciences with minimum 3-5 years related experience.
• Excellent communication skills and able to work with all levels.
• Flexible in switching roles, responsibility & new task when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical support in terms of specification interpretation, adequacy of existing documentation, disposition of non-conforming materials, and training on the usage of all inspection measuring equipment.
• Identifies and plans for inspection and test requirements needed for adequate assessment of the quality of incoming piece-parts.
• Analyzes inspection, evaluation and test data. Feedback quality performance and follow-up on quality issues with suppliers.
• Active involvement in quality improvement program with suppliers.
• Leads in sourcing for substitute/ alternative materials to achieve cost savings, ensuring assurance of supply and / or improve quality of piece-parts.
• Assists manufacturing in evaluating material related issues to ensure correct disposition of non-conformance materials.

Job Description

This is a Mechatronics Engineer / Electronics & Electrical Engineer which requires a high level of creativity and originality and initiative in accomplishing assignments. Can work independently whenever necessary, to improve the quality of suppliers’ piece-parts in the area of responsibility. Identifies and evaluates alternative materials or suppliers to maintain competitive quality, assurance of supply and/or pricing of piece-parts. Provide technical support for NPI (New Product Introduction) & Product Transfer. Assists manufacturing in resolving material related issues, and also provide technical guidance to less experienced Engineers.
