Job summary

Mewah Group, a leading integrated agri-business and one of the world’s largest palm oil processors, is seeking a Mechanical Technician in Selangor, Malaysia. The role focuses on maintaining and repairing machineries, conducting inspections, and performing welds and pipe fitting tasks as part of a hands-on maintenance team.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years in a mechanical/maintenance role, with a mechanical background and readiness for long hours when needed.

Qualifications

• At least SPM/O level or equivalent with mechanical background or related experience.
• At least 2 years’ experience in related field; preferably manufacturing.
• Able to work extended hours when required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot mechanical issues on machineries.
• Maintain machineries to working standards.
• Conduct regular inspections to detect and resolve problems.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
• Perform daily preventive/predictive/corrective maintenance.
• Inspect welds for quality and conformance to specs.
• Involve in pipe fitting: measuring, marking, cutting, bevelling, assembling and welding components.
• Take on tasks/projects as assigned by supervisor.

Job description

1. Troubleshoot mechanical issues on machineries

2. Ensure and maintain all machineries are at working standards

3. Conduct regular inspections of the machineries to detect and resolve problem.

4. Adhere to the safety policies and procedures.

5. Execution of daily preventive/predictive/corrective maintenance work

6.Inspect welds for accuracy, quality and conformance to specifications

7. Involve in pipe fitting activities e.g. measuring and marking pipes for cutting bevelling, assembling and welding pipe components (inclusive supports) and systems.

8. Any task/project as and when assigned by superior

Job Requirement:-

At least SPM/”O” level, Higher Secondary/STPM/”A” level/ Pre- U or Diploma level with mechanical background or working experience.

At least 2 years’ experience in working experience in the related field ; preferable manufacturing industry.

Able to work in odds and long hours when required.
