Job summary

IOI Palm Wood Sdn Bhd is seeking a mechanical maintenance fitter to carry out preventive maintenance as per plans, assist in autonomous maintenance, and oversee equipment installation with contractors. The role involves fabricating and aligning parts, repairing machinery, welding, and ensuring DOSH safety compliance in a 5S workplace.

Candidate should possess SKM Level 2 or a Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, with advantageous MIG/TIG welding skills and solid mechanical troubleshooting

Qualifications

• At least SKM Level 2 or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering.
• Adequate knowledge of how to troubleshoot mechanical systems.
• Mechanical skills enabling proper use of tools and equipment.
• MIG/TIG welding knowledge is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive maintenance activity according to plans and schedules.
• Assist and explore in autonomous maintenance.
• Assist in installation of equipment and supervise external contractors when required.
• Fabricate, layout, position, align and fit parts of machinery/equipment.
• Perform maintenance, troubleshoot and repair machinery/equipment.
• Manage and take responsibility for overall machines at plant facility.
• Perform gas cutting and arc welding as needed.
• Provide technical support/breakdown work in production area.
• Specify requirements for mechanical parts and items.
• Maintain 5S in the workplace and department.
• Ensure safety and maintain areas regulated by DOSH.

Job Description

• To carry out preventive maintenance activity in accordance with plans and schedules.
• To assist and explore in autonomous maintenance.
• To assist in the installation of equipment, effectively supervise and liaise with external contractors on all installation works as necessary.
• To be able to fabricate, layout, position, align and fit parts of machinery / equipment.
• Able to perform maintenance, troubleshoot and repair machinery and equipment.
• Managing and responsible for overall machines at plant facility.
• Able to perform gas cutting and arc welding.
• To provide technical support / breakdown work in production area.
• Competency in specifying the requirement for any mechanical parts and items.
• To maintain good 5S in the workplace and department.
• To ensure the safety and effectively maintain the areas regulated by DOSH.
• To perform other duties as assigned from time to time by the Department Head.

Qualifications

• At least SKM Level 2 or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering.
• Ability to perform MIG/TIG welding will be an advantage.
• Adequate knowledge of system structures and how to troubleshoot systems by utilizing the knowledge of how the system was designed to perform.
• Mechanical skills which enable a mechanical fitter to understand which tools to use and how they should be used.
