MERCU JITU ENGINEERING SDN BHD in Kajang, Selangor is seeking a Mechanical Engineer specialising in Fire Protection for Data Center Projects to join the team as a full-time position.

You will design, develop and implement mechanical fire protection systems tailored for data centre environments, ensuring safety, reliability and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience.
• Experience in fire protection design is required; data center exposure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design fire protection systems for data centers (sprinkler, suppression, hydrant).
• Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Ensure designs comply with NFPA, FM Global, and local authority requirements.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, consultants, and contractors.
• Support site inspections, testing and commissioning when required.

Mechanical Engineer (Fire Protection - Data Center Projects)

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer specialising in Fire Protection for Data Center Projects to join our engineering team. This is a full-time position based in Kajang, Selangor. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing and implementing mechanical fire protection systems specifically tailored for data centre environments. You will play a critical part in ensuring that our data centre facilities meet the highest standards of safety, reliability and regulatory compliance. This position is essential to our ability to deliver world-class infrastructure solutions to our clients and represents a key opportunity to contribute to the advancement of fire safety technology in the digital infrastructure sector.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop fire protection systems (sprinkler, suppression, hydrant, and related systems)
• Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
• Ensure designs comply with local and international codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, FM, local authority requirements)
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, consultants, and contractors
• Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, and project coordination activities
• Support site inspections, testing, and commissioning when required

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience
• Experience in fire protection system design is required
• Data center project experience is highly preferred
• Familiarity with engineering software and AutoCAD/Revit is an advantage
• Good communication and coordination skills
