Job summary

SIBS Sdn Bhd is seeking a Mechanical/ Maintenance Engineer to monitor welding and fabrication activities, ensuring compliance with procedures and quality requirements. You will coordinate WPQT/WQT testing and contribute to process stabilization and optimization.

The role requires English and Bahasa Malaysia, 2+ years in maintenance, and a diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. A junior executive level is preferred for this position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or diploma in Mechanical/ Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• 2+ years of relevant maintenance experience.
• Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Monitor welding and fabrication processes to ensure compliance with procedures and quality requirements.
• Coordinate with divisions to initiate WPQT and WQT testing as required.
• Prepare technical documents, reports, and presentations for production quality.
• Assist audits and close actions, ensuring documentation aligns with policies.

Job description

Monitor and provide technical support for welding and fabrication activities, ensuring compliance with approved procedures, drawings, and quality requirements.

Respond to internal and external audits, actions follow- up till closure.

Initiate Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) meetings with all concerned divisions and co-workers within the Welding Division, aiming to run Welding Procedure Qualification Tests (WPQT) and Welder Qualification Tests (WQT) accordingly.

Responsible follow up and establish new standard for process stabilizing and optimization (procedure, control plan, SOP, WI, form).

Monitor and improve processes to ensure stable production performance.

Troubleshoot casting-related issues and identify root causes.

Ensure proper documentation of production activities, including compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Prepare detailed technical document, product specification, report, and presentation.

Requirements:

Candidate must possess at least Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor's Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Engineering (Civil), Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent.

Required language(s): English & Bahasa Malaysia

At least 2 year(s) of working experience in the related field (Maintenance preferably) for this position.

Preferably Junior Executive specialized in Engineering - Mechanical/ Maintenance or equivalent.

Preferably with construction background.
