Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Mechanical/Process Engineer to drive continuous improvements in metal precision stamping and sheet metal fabrication. You will analyze current processes, identify bottlenecks, and implement cycle time reductions to boost productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.

You will apply Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methods, design efficient layouts, and collaborate with tooling, maintenance, and production teams to optimize tooling setup, die changes, and overall stamping

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Industrial or Mechanical engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years in mechanical/process engineering or manufacturing optimization.
  • Strong knowledge of process analysis, cycle time reduction, and machine efficiency improvements.
  • Familiarity with Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and value stream mapping.
  • Experience with automation, IoT, or digital manufacturing is an advantage.
  • Ability to analyze data, conduct time-motion studies, and propose process optimizations.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Process Study & Evaluation: Analyze stamping and sheet metal fabrication processes to identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities.
  • Process & Machine Optimization: Implement improvements to boost productivity and cost-effectiveness.
  • Lean Manufacturing & Industrial Engineering: Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen to reduce waste and improve flow.
  • Production Layout & Workflow Optimization: Design and improve factory layouts and material flow.
  • Tooling & Die Performance Improvement: Optimize tooling setup and die changes with tooling and maintenance teams.
  • Modify and design new Jigs to improve cycle time and yield.
  • Quality & Defect Reduction: Implement corrective actions and quality initiatives to reduce rejection rates.
  • Automation & Digitalization: Identify areas for automation and digital transformation to improve control and traceability.
  • Capacity Planning & Cost Reduction: Conduct time studies and propose cost-saving initiatives.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with Production, QA, Maintenance, and Tooling teams.

Job Title: Mechanical/Process (Metal Precision Stamping and Sheet Metal Fabrication)
Reports to: Technical Manager

We are a fast-growing SME specializing in metal precision stamping and sheet metal fabrication, supplying critical components to automotive, computer, chassis, and printer industries. To enhance efficiency, quality, and process optimization, we are seeking a Mechanical/Process Engineer to drive continuous improvements and manufacturing excellence.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Process Study & Evaluation: Analyze current stamping and sheet metal fabrication processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
  • Process & Machine Optimization: Implement process improvements, cycle time reductions, and machine utilization enhancements to boost productivity and cost-effectiveness.
  • Lean Manufacturing & Industrial Engineering: Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies to reduce waste, improve process flow, and enhance manufacturing efficiency.
  • Production Layout & Workflow Optimization: Design and improve factory layouts, workstation setups, and material flow to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Tooling & Die Performance Improvement: Work closely with tooling, maintenance, and production teams to optimize tooling setup, die changes, and overall stamping performance.
  • Modify and design new Jigs to improve on cycle time, higher quality yield and output enhancement.
  • Quality & Defect Reduction: Implement corrective actions, failure analysis, and quality improvement initiatives to reduce rejection rates and enhance product consistency.
  • Automation & Digitalization: Identify areas for automation, robotics, and digital transformation to improve process control and traceability.
  • Capacity Planning & Cost Reduction: Conduct time studies, optimize labor utilization, and propose cost-saving initiatives for process improvements.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with Production, QA, Maintenance, and Tooling teams to ensure seamless process integration and improvement execution.
Requirements:
  • Degree/Diploma in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical, process engineering, industrial engineering, or manufacturing optimization, preferably in metal stamping or sheet metal fabrication.
  • Strong knowledge in process analysis, cycle time reduction, and machine efficiency improvements.
  • Familiar with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and value stream mapping.
  • Experience in automation, IoT, or digital manufacturing is an advantage.
  • Ability to analyze data, conduct time-motion studies, and propose process optimizations.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
