Job summary

Asia Recruit is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to be based in Melaka, Malaysia. The role involves regional and factory project management, design reviews, and installation/testing activities for insulation industry projects.

You will work with cross-functional teams, perform CAD design (AutoCAD/SolidWorks), and ensure compliance with industry standards while driving cost improvements and process efficiency. Proactive reporting to stakeholders is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in relevant working experience, preferably in manufacturing
• Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Proficient in CAD software such as AutoCAD / SolidWorks or similar tools
• Strong engineering project, utilities, maintenance knowledge
• Creative and innovative in solutions
• Critical thinking and analytical skills
• Confident communication and interpersonal skills
• Willing to travel for overseas assignment
• Good written and verbal English

Responsibilities

• Lead or support as key player in projects and factory upgrading management
• Conduct technical and operational evaluations, identify gaps and provide effective solutions
• Budgeting, technical specifications, briefing, negotiation panel and costing management
• Develop time plans with integrated risk management
• Perform research, evaluate materials, and analyze processes to improve product performance and reduce costs
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution
• Use CAD software to create/modify 2D/3D models
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with SHE, MMR and FLPM standards

Role summary

• Regional and factories project management covering vendors technical review, solutions design, fabrications monitoring, FAT, installation, testing, commissioning, SAT, upgrading activities, trouble shooting
• Improve process and SHE control efficiency and reliability
• AutoCAD drawings, documentation, training and IP management
• Perform engineering calculations to support factory design decisions and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Leading / supporting as key players in projects and factory upgrading management
• Technical and operational evaluations, identify gaps and provide sound solutions
• Budgeting, technical specifications, briefing, negotiation panel and costing management
• Time plan with integrated risk management
• Conduct research, evaluate materials, and analyze manufacturing processes to enhance product performance and reduce costs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional working teams, including electrical engineers, project and production teams, to ensure seamless project executions.
• Utilize CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD, SolidWorks) to create and modify 2D and/or 3D models.
• Monitoring / tracking with prompt corrective actions
• Responsible to strategize and provide guidance on the installation, testing, operation, maintenance, and repair of facilities and equipment.
• To ensure Preventive and Corrective maintenance in accordance with plans and schedules.
• Prepare technical reports, documentation and presentations to provide proactive and constructive communications on findings and project status to stakeholders.
• Compliance to group SHE, MMR and FLPM
• Quality projects documentations; Operations / MAI manual, training and trouble shooting
• Periodic reports and information management
• Stay updated with latest industry trends, technologies and best practices to continuously improve engineering processes
• Any other jobs as assigned by superior

Requirement
